BIAA / INVESTIGATE

Phase one: investigate

Teams refine a question, choose a measurable indicator and compare conditions. Methods and instrument limits are recorded before a design criterion is proposed.

BIAA / DESIGN

Phase two: design from evidence

The result becomes a requirement, threshold or trade-off in a prototype. Teams show where evidence informed a decision and where judgement was still necessary.

BIAA / TEST

Phase three: test the connection

The prototype is evaluated against the stated criterion. A review asks whether the scientific evidence was sufficient and whether the design introduced new variables.
