AMC: Preparation & Training

The AMC (American Mathematics Competitions) is the entry point to the US math olympiad pipeline. Strong AMC scores also strengthen STEM applications.

The AMC ladder

AMC 8 (middle school), AMC 10/12 (high school) → top scorers qualify for the AIME, then USAMO/JMO. It's a ladder, and each rung is trainable.

How BIAA trains for it

  • Diagnostic to find gaps across algebra, geometry, number theory, combinatorics.
  • Technique drilling plus timed full mocks.
  • AIME-track extension for qualifiers.

Note: The AMC is administered by the Mathematical Association of America; BIAA independently prepares students.
